  • Full time position – Welshpool WA
  • Key role with direct impact on plant activities
  • Scope to design and implement new processes

 

The position

This is not a typical lab analyst position; as technical expert, you will determine the best treatment methods for all incoming waste, refine our processes for maximum value, and identify plant improvements to drive productivity. Collaborating with the team in WA and eastern state colleagues, you will develop new methods of waste treatment to expand our service offerings and have a hands-on contribution to a sustainable future.

  • Accurately classifying waste via standard tests (pH, conductivity, flash)
  • Optimizing plant processes according to individual job requirements
  • Accurately capturing/forecasting costs to assist the Sales team in pricing jobs
  • Ensuring all waste treated in compliance with relevant legislation / regulations
  • Reporting as per DWER/DMP requirements
  • Developing treatment options for new waste streams

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Sound experience working with waste or hazardous chemicals
  • Meticulous record keeping skills in accordance with tightly regulated controlled waste environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of chemicals and applicable legislation relating to their use, storage and disposal
  • Strong communication and work priority planning skills
