ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

SGS Australia operates a state-of-the-art facility in the Perth Airport, providing 24/7 analysis of mineral samples for the local and regional clients. Our Minerals Geochemicals Division currently has positions available for safety conscious and self-motivated Sample Preparers, to join the team.

RESPONSIBILITES

Reporting to Fire Assay/Sample Preparation Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:
• Responsible for unloading, loading, sorting and weighing of samples onto drying racks while maintaining numerical order.
• Responsible for crushing, milling samples and transferring sub-samples to sample packets while maintaining numerical order and following established quality control procedures and avoiding contamination.
• Responsible for good house keeping in sample preparation and associated areas.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Although previous experience would be an advantage, it is not essential. This position requires physical strength, ability to match our samples to our numerical system and to meet targets. The following would also be an advantage:
• Forklift license.
• Current driver's license.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen
