The Debt Collection team at Grace Lawyers is a major provider of legal services in the recovery of debts for our clients. Our services extend from the first letter of demand to final bankruptcy or liquidation (if required).

The Role

We currently have a casual position available within our Debt Recovery practice area for someone able to work 9am to 5pm for 2-3 days per week (consecutive days) and who possesses the required competencies.

Debt recovery experience is preferred however we are willing and open to providing training for the successful applicant who possesses the required competencies, the desire and the willingness to learn. As the newest addition to an ever evolving Debt Recovery team, you will work with fellow law clerks/paralegals/legal professionals and enjoy a down to earth, professional and fun work environment.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of court documents
  • Communicating over the telephone with various parties involved in proceedings
  • Drafting of correspondence to clients, debtors, court registries and other third parties
  • Evaluation and assessment of cases in order to provide recommendations to clients to ensure efficient, amicable resolution is attained
  • Maintenance of files

The Candidate

You will be proficient in the use of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and be confident with using common technology.

You will also need to possess the following:

  • Strong work ethic, organisational & time management skills and a professional manner
  • The ability to work within a team as well as autonomously
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • The ability to be flexible and thorough in your approach to your work
  • The ability to analyse, evaluate and explore any given situation and arrive at a logical conclusion
