The Company
Our client is one of the largest underwriting agencies in Australia. They are widely respected for their ability to provide specialised insurance products and services to the broader market.

As their business has grown in their specialised market, they have now recognised the need to appoint a Team Leader to their Commercial Underwriting team. 

The Role

• Managing a team from Assistant Underwriter level through to Senior Underwriter level
• Underwriting Commercial risks for a panel of Brokers
• Assisting in Portfolio Management matters,
• Liaising with the London market when required
• Reporting to Senior Management regarding team performance against pre agreed benchmarks
• Build a happy, successful and profitable Underwriting team.

Ideal Candidate

• 7 years plus Underwriting experience, Commercial Underwriting experience, or Packaged Product Underwriting experience.
• Additionally, you will have demonstrated experience building sustainable relationships with a Broking network in Sydney or Melbourne.
• From a personality perspective, it is essential the Team Leader buys into what the Underwriting team is creating.
• The right person will have an outstanding work ethic and brilliant references from previous employers / colleagues.
• This particular team has a very strong culture and it is critical that the Team Leader embraces and enhances this culture for the betterment of all stakeholders
