The award winning Coral Sea Resort situated in the stunning Whitsundays at Airlie Beach requires a motivated proactive Head Chef to assist with the management of our young team. Catering to a wide range of International and domestic tourists and open breakfast, lunch and dinner, Airlie Beach's finest and only absolute ocean front dining location is also the favourite local dining place.
The ideal candidate is creative with an up to date knowledge of food trends. The service is casual daytime, starting with breakfast and lunch and the dinner service is formal and of a very high quality, always exceeding the guests expectations.
Your Banquet Skills will be highly regarded. Coral Sea Resort features a private jetty , outdoor garden area and 200 seat conference room and proudly hosted 75 weddings and conferences last year.
Position Description
Managing, motivating and training Team of Young Chefs
Stock control, personal management, planning menus. Full production responsibility for all facets of a professional fast paced kitchen in a hands on manner.
This role would not suit a kitchen administrator, the nature of this business requires leadership by example.
This is a mainland position in a vibrant eclectic tourism area. The position would suit a person who enjoys the outdoors and the ocean.
Minimum 2 years experience as a head chef, international experience highly regarded and assistance with migration and sponsorship may be available to the right candidate.
The position is entirely hands-on on a daily basis.
