We are currently seeking applications from experienced Directors to undertaken work with a high level of complexity that has strategic, political and operational significance.

As the Director (Strategy Development) will be responsible for influencing and developing strategy, policies, priorities and operational practices. It will be required to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex, sensitive, projects or work programs aimed at achieving the departments mission.

The position has a significant degree of independence to exercise your judgement and make decisions within your area of accountability. You will have delegated authority and responsibility to provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decisions for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within their assigned Work Area.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Planning, facilitation and delivery of strategy sessions for leadership teams across the department, including the Executive Leadership Team and Board;
• Monitoring the development and delivery of key strategies with organisation-wide impacts, including the department’s people, technology and risk strategies;
• Provide high level of strategic advice, problem solving, and issues management including the assessment of performance against targets;
• Accountability for the planning, facilitation and delivery of strategy sessions for the leadership teams across the Agency including Executive Leadership teams and Board;
• Anticipate, establish priorities and design strategies to support the Executive Leadership
• Monitor development and delivery of key strategies with organisation-wide impacts including the people, technology and risk strategies;
• Analyse ongoing deliverables and outcomes of the Corporate Plan with reference to the operating model design target state to provide strategies that ensure consistency across the department;
• Acquire and apply an understanding of the complexity of the department operating environment to make decisions on the development of organisational strategy and planning documentation that meet the expectations of key stakeholders.

• Keen intelligence, persuasiveness and influencing skills.
