Our Boral Asphalt team require a Shift Assistant to join our plant based in Enfield/Greenacre. Our Asphalt team are skilled and experienced in delivering asphalt road maintenance services to councils, contractors, asset owners and managers and supply a number of asphalt paving products, various Surface Treatments and Spray Seals.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, some of your responsibilities include:
- Produce & dispatch asphalt product in accordance with identified procedures and production plans
- Ensure the safe operation of the Enfield Asphalt Plant in accordance with correct procedures
- Carry out routine inspections and/or maintenance of all plant and associated equipment
- Develop procedures for the safe and efficient operation, inspection isolation and maintenance of the asphalt plant and associated equipment
- Process all necessary paperwork as required
- Maintain stocks of raw materials as required
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Forklift Licence
- Prepared and willing to work rotating shift work
- Ability to work to production and maintenance deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent workplace safety knowledge and safety focus
- Previous experience in a team leadership role is an advantage
- Previous experience in the asphalt industry or other related civil construction fields is well regarded
- Knowledge of working with hot materials, trade qualifications and FEL experience are also desirable.
The successful applicant will have strong people skills with the ability to work unsupervised. This is a salaried role and remuneration will be based on the skills and experience you bring on board.
