Be a strategic finance partner to business unit commercial leadership. Be part of a team that provides accurate, insightful and timely analysis of vessel projects and business unit financial performance to influence optimal financial outcomes.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this permanent fulltime role will provide accurate, insightful and timely analysis of vessel projects and total business financial performance.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Liaise with business units to analyse, interrogate and report on major projects and total business unit profitability and cash flow performance
• Highlight key issues for management attention
• Set the standard for standard project and business unit budgeting and forecasting models across the group and implement processes
• Assist in the annual financial planning cycle which consists of the annual Business Plan & Budget, and Monthly Forecasts & Actual results analysis
• Guide each business unit through the planning cycle
• Accurate entry of monthly results into financial models; including reconciliation with Pronto
• Identify variances in financial performance compared to budgeted and prior month results. Understand drivers of variances and provide astute commentary on variances
• Become an expert on the Austal methodology of financial modelling, increasingly able to help others across the business to understand and use models
• Assist in financial analysis to assess major capital expenditure requests

About You:

• CA or CPA qualified, you will have relevant FP&A experience gained in a large and complex environment – complex, high value manufacturing or similar
• You are an entrepreneurial analyst with a deep sense of curiosity and a passion for commercial business.
• With outstanding relationship building skills, you are comfortable making recommendations to people of all levels and backgrounds.

• Ability to lead and act as part of a team

• Your ability to manage competing deadlines and juggle conflicting priorities will set you apart for success in this role.
