About the Company

Oztix is Australia’s largest independent ticketing company, and sells tickets nationally for hundreds of clients online, through our national Call Centre and via a national network of retail outlets. Based in sunny Brisbane we have offices in Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Our sister company NZtix is based in Auckland New Zealand.

We provide full service ticketing solutions for all types of venues and events across all event categories, from music festivals to sporting events, family events, exhibitions and art galleries. We are seeking a talented General Manager to help grow the business, in a newly created position.

About the role

The General Manager will report to the Managing Director and work with him and other senior leaders in the business on devising strategy to keep apace of a rapidly developing market. In addition, you will oversee all aspects of the Operations Department, Technology and Customer Service teams. You will be passionate about implementing systems and motivating your team to exceed client & customer expectations and you will most likely be on a path to securing a Chief Operating Officer role in the future. Other duties of the General Manager will include, but not be limited to:-

 

  • Increase management’s effectiveness through ongoing training, development and mentoring
  • Negotiate and where necessary mediate to find opportunities to resolve conflicts efficiently and favourably
  • Weigh the costs and benefits of various options to determine the best course of action to achieve company goals
  • Analyse past and current performance and recommend objectives to improve productivity and profitability
  • Formulate company policies, directing and coordinating all divisional department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Active participation in strategic planning

About you

As the successful General Manager, you will be leading and motivating a number of teams, as well as handling multiple tasks and solving problems. The General Manager will be relied upon to ensure our client's expectations are being exceeded.

You will also have the following skills and experience:-

 

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager, General Manager or Chief Operating Officer role
  • Experience in an entertainment/ticketing or arts, recreation, leisure, music environment or related field is preferable
  • Experience in POS systems/ CRM and Custom applications
  • Demonstrated team leadership & management experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
