Are you an electrical or mechanical design engineer seeking a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity to step up and join a high performing, close-knit team of talented engineers within an R&D environment? Can you develop electromechanical products with considerations for manufacturability, cost and risk constraints? Do you strive to see your engineering skills, creativity and effort come to fruition with your designs being seen “in the wild” and in the knowledge that they will be used by a broad range of users from householders to niche specialist throughout Australia and New Zealand?

Our Wiring Device business creates and maintains designs for innovative, safe, reliable and cost competitive products for the Pacific market. The products that we design are the interface with the electricity in your home, work, school, hotel, factory or hospital (just to name a few!). People interact with our products all-day, every day, from the moment they wake up and turn on the lights, to the moment they turn them off and go to sleep.

Whilst we do not want to narrow the field, we do believe that instrumental to your success in this role will be Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering qualification, dovetailing perfectly with solid experience developing products for the consumer market; understanding technical & manufacturing objectives & constraints.

You will be an accomplished product designer and user of Pro/Engineer whilst demonstrating a solid understanding and practice of project management methodologies. Terms such as: tolerance analysis; compliance requirements and FMEA will be a natural part of your vocabulary. That’s the technical stuff, but equally critical is your energy, curiosity, customer focus and ability to collaborate extensively, remaining a selfless and committed team player and ability respond with a sense of urgency.
