On your 1st day, you’ll be introduced to your new team. Initially, you’ll have 2 reports, both very strong in visual design. You’ll also meet the other 12 in your design community. You’ll likely have a google hangout with the other 4 offices across the country and you’ll probably get a little lost on the 2 floors of a very funky office in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

Let’s fast forward one year (ish), you have grown the research and UX discipline too.

You can sleep easy knowing that you and your team have successfully transformed the customer experience for thousands of people. Bravo!

All 6 products have consistent design and you know that all customers are sharing a similar experience. You’ve influenced executive stakeholders and brought the whole company on the UX journey. You’ve used pattern libraries to implement consistent UX across the board.

What about the new products coming out? Yep, you’ve lead the design on this too. The app marketplace, the DXP and the secret squirrel project we can’t share yet.
