The Halls Creek Aquatic and Recreation Centre is a first class sport and recreation facility which includes an Adult (25m, 8 lane) pool, children’s pool, gymnasium, covered basketball courts and activity rooms. The facility is centrally located in Halls Creek. It is a key asset providing significant health and recreational benefits to our largely aboriginal community.
The development of the Centre is continuing with the introduction of free entry for children, the commissioning of a new solar power system and plans to build a children’s water attraction/ slide later in the year.
This position supports the Recreation Centre Manager by:
• attending to plant and equipment maintenance
• supervising pool duty manager and lifeguards and undertaking these duties when required
• acting as the Recreation Centre Manager when the manager is on leave
• implementing promotions and programs
The Assistant Recreation Centre Manager will have sound supervisory skills with a developing knowledge of leading teams. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with different cultures & youth, excellent customer service skills and physical fitness to perform duties.
Current Pool Operator’s Certificate, Lifeguard Certificate and Breathing Apparatus Certificate are necessary for this position, although consideration will be given to those with a Lifeguard qualification, subject to all qualifications being obtained soon after appointment. The successful applicants are required to obtain a Western Australian Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance and a medical check.
Competitive remuneration packages for each position are offered comprising a cash salary of up to $65,000 plus superannuation, allowances.
