Our Client is one of the leading suppliers of quality cattle in NSW, supplying both domestic and international markets with high grade, grain feed cattle. Located 15km west of Quirindi and 70km south of Tamworth in NSW, our client is seeking a Leading Hand to join their organisation.

Description

Under the guidance of the Feed Mill & Operations Manager, the Feed Mill Leading Hand is responsible for overseeing the feeding of cattle, conducting feedcall and ensuring the wellbeing of animals. The duties of this position centre around the feeding responsibilities and mill operations, to ensure the health and wellbeing of the 20,000 head of cattle on the property is maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Feeding the cattle
• Cleaning and maintaining feed bunks to ensure animal health and wellbeing
• Accurate daily feed preparation
• Machinery operation and maintenance
• Weighing and testing of product in the mill
• Record management of weights, moisture and batching data
• Loading trucks for feed delivery

Skills/Experience:

• Experience working with livestock
• Experience with maintaining and operating machinery
• Feedlot industry experience
• Strong customer service and interaction skills
• Boiler ticket is desirable, not necessary
