The Opportunity:

Our meat industry partner is looking for a highly experience Quality Assurance Manager with a previous background as an On Plant Veterinarian who might be looking for a career change. You’ll be responsible for running the entire QA Division for this processing facility which includes a QA Assistant Manager, 5 x QA Officers and a further 2 x Lab Technicians.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have an extensive meat processing background in the meat industry at the highest level. You’ll also be willing to relocate and live in Queensland on a full time permanent basis.

The Position:

• You’ll report to the onsite Plant Manager;
• Developing, Organising and maintaining a Quality Management System; reviewing documents and communicating potential risk to senior management;
• Assisting in setting and achieving the agreed technical budget;
• Directing the planning and implementing of the Quality Assurance audit processes for the company;
• Monitoring products and ensuring correct and safe practices are being undertaken;
• Working with the Operations, Processing, Warehouse and Distribution teams to achieve all food safety and quality standards are maintained through conducting on the job training for all teams;
• Driving and leading to reduce the non-compliance numbers down for the business;
• Conduct Hygiene Audits, through reviewing product quality by conducting random checks on our production, product and general quality on the production line;
• Review and develop company processes to provide premium customer service whilst ensuring productivity and financial objectives are also achieved;

The Candidate:

• A demonstrated senior background in quality assurance within the red meat industry is essential;
• Must be willing to live locally on a full-time basis to this Queensland location;
• Company prefers previous experience as an On Plant Veterinarian;
• A multitasker who handles pressure of variable workloads well, including all practical and administration duties;
• A strong people leader and staff trainer;
• Experience in Work, Health & Safety (WH&S) and Environmental systems in the workplace and experience in dealing with customer complaints and conflict resolution;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• A proven track record understanding HACCP, quality systems and meat production systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications style;
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

On offer is an attractive salary package commensurate to your background and experience. The offer will in the 6 figures and you will be given a full time permanent position.
