MG Trading, (fully owned subsidiary of Saputo Dairy Australia) is the largest rural dairy agribusiness in Australia, retailing merchandise, feed and fertiliser to farmers across Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.
We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Sales Agronomist to join our network of stores in South West Victoria. This role is required to target new clients through the provision of superior sales and agronomic input together with maximising opportunities for the promotion of other MG Trading products and services.
Key responsibilities
Relationship management
- Develop and foster strong relationships with a targeted portfolio of existing and new clients
- Maintain regular contact with the MG Nutritionist & Field Services to identify new client opportunities
- Address and resolve client issues in an appropriate and timely manner
Agronomic sales
- Provide sound & credible technical agronomic advice
- Analyse and determine client needs and future trends
- Remain informed on new developments in technology and products within the agronomy and pasture industry
New business
- Target new clients through the provision of superior sales and agronomic input together with maximising opportunities for the promotion of other MG Trading products and services
- Identify and visit new client prospects as part of an annual business development call cycle
Documentation
- Manage and document client communications
- Prepare monthly sales activity reports
Required Skills & Experience
- Agronomy formal training and/or relevant industry training
- Previous experience in an Agronomist role in the retail industry
- Proven experience and knowledge of the agricultural retail industry
The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
