We are looking for someone with the right attitude to work with the local community, educating and informing in a friendly manner about licensing, parking regulation and public nuisance control issues.  
 
Please be aware that this role involves working with confrontational subject matter that may be distressing for some people.
 
The Role:
 
In this role you will get the opportunity to combine your experience and passion for the community, compliance and legislation, with your ability to work with animals.  No two days are the same, you will have the opportunity to be out in the community investigating and resolving requests in regards to: Animals, nuisances, regulated parking, local laws etc.
This is a 6 month temporary contract with the possibility of extension, and you will be working full time hours.
The successful applicant will ideally have had experience in a similar role, and will be capable of learning and understanding legislation and compliance related information.  You will be showcasing your strong customer service skills both in person and on the phone, working with residents and customers to resolve their enquiries.  You will be required to be confident and comfortable working with animals. 
 
Responsibilities and activities:
  • Assist in accordance with Local Laws, Local Laws Policies and legislation
  • Conduct approved inspection programs
  • Conduct investigations into alleged breaches of relevant Local Laws
  • Promote quality customer service through education and awareness of relevant Local Laws
  • Provide investigation reports and evidentiary statements
  • Inputting and updating data in the corporate computer system
  • Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and training.
 
The Right Person:
  • Similar background (legislation / compliance /investigations / local laws) is preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet changing demands
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fit and healthy - you will be outside regularly
  • Ability to drive manual car and have a current open driver’s license
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Proven ability to learn a wide range of products and services
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution ability
  • Strong decision making skills
