Community Housing Limited (CHL) is an innovative national community housing provider which manages sustainable housing for people in need and provides options for those experiencing housing difficulties. A recently won tender has begun the exciting expansion of our operations in New South Wales and we are looking for committed passionate individuals to join our growing team

 

We have created the new role of Support Coordinator to assist customers to access social supports and opportunities for economic participation. There are two full time positions available but these may be filled by more than two people if some would prefer to work on a part time basis.

 

Coordinating support for customers must be undertaken in light of relevant legislation, regulations, compliance requirements and organisational procedures. It will include:

  • Assisting customers with information, advocacy and referrals
  • Coordinating and facilitating customer access to identified support services, social and economic opportunities
  • Working closely with the tenancy services and housing options teams, in Port Macquarie and Kempsey to ensure the full suite of CHL’s services and external support partners are available to customers
  • Maintaining accurate records

     

The positions will be best filled by self-starting team players who are great at building relationships, and are experienced in assisting customers to access services. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in one or more priority areas, including: employment, education and training, family support, mental health support, and financial literacy. Relevant experience in a similar role will help you succeed, as will knowledge and understanding of the social housing, homelessness and support services sectors. A current driver’s licence is required.
