About us:

The Disability Trust is committed to providing highly professional care and support to people with disabilities and their families. Based in regional NSW and the ACT, The Disability Trust provides a wide range of services to residents from Sydney in the north to the Victorian border. 

The Disability Trust has its roots firmly in the community, having been established in 1974 to help children with disabilities and their families in the Illawarra. In recent years we have grown substantially, and now have approximately 1400 permanent and casual staff providing care for more than 4000 clients. 

About the role:

We are looking for passionate and motivated people to join our team.  The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operation of a service/services in order to provide quality community inclusion opportunities for people with disabilities. To plan, organise and control the activities of services, in conjunction with the Manager of the service. To ensure the delivery of services in a way that maintains the health and safety of employees, volunteers and participants.

The successful candidate may be expected to work across a number of houses, however the primary focus will be on a new service, which aims to meet the needs of young people between 12 and 30 years. The service offers a range of services from respite, day options, capacity building programs and clinical services. This role will also be instrumental in growing the new services and finding other avenues for business development. 

What we are looking for:

  • Genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with disabilities
  • Excellent communication and proven computer skills
  • Initiative and drive to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated awareness of disability issues
  • Drivers licence and access to a reliable/registered and insured vehicle
  • Working with Children Check
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card (scans of front and back of card)
  • Cleared Criminal Record Check obtained within 12 months
