Fire & Safety Australia is one of Australia's fastest growing providers of nationally recognised safety and emergency response training. We are a growing company with a hardworking and enthusiastic team who is focussed on becoming Australia's premier provider of emergency response services and safety training.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Fulltime Instructor based in Darwin (NT), who can facilitate our training courses. You will complete training both at client locations and at our locations, you will also be heavily involved in developing new training course materials and performing on-site fire and safety consulting for our clients (such as Emergency Services Officer Duties, Confined Space Consulting and/or Emergency Management Procedures)

We trained over 40,000 people in 2017- 2018 across every State and Territory of Australia and you will be responsible and accountable for providing outstanding training and consultancy delivery to our clients and working with our national team.

You will follow highly developed training programs that will ensure outstanding training for our clients.

We are currently looking for personable and passionate staff who make training interesting for learners. You will be a self-starter who is comfortable and reliable working on various projects and courses and is confident to work independently.

You will be required to work as part of our team, wear our company uniform and support our operations by:
•Conducting on-site training sessions at client locations (Height Safety, Confined Space Entry, Fire Warden, Fire Extinguisher, First Aid Training, Emergency Response Training)
•Conducting training sessions at our public training course venues
•Conducting on-site consultancy (confined space audits, emergency procedures audits etc)
•Conducting on-site emergency response drills
•Work with the training administration and management team to book training, consultancy and specialist services across your region
•Travelling if required to locations within Australia to assist our team

•Successfully pass a medical and fitness assessment as determined by our clients
•Be willing to put the needs of our clients and our company first in everything that you do
•Have great experience in conducting fire, safety and rescue training (possessing Cert IV TAE in workplace training and assessment)
•Contain a solid understanding and demonstrated experience in AS3745:2010 - Planning for Emergencies a=in Facilities
•Have experience in instructing or a high level of experience in completing the following training courses within an emergency response environment (preferably mining or full-time emergency services)-•NOTE: Experience in teaching at least 3 of the courses below is mandatory
*Fire Extinguisher/Fire Warden/Chief Warden Training
*Gas Detection
*Height Safety Training
•*Tower/Vertical Rescue Training
*Road Accident Rescue Training
*Fire Team/Firefighter/Rescue Officer training

*Confined Space Entry
*Confined Space Rescue

*Breathing Apparatus

*First Aid/CPR-Low Voltage Rescue


Have emergency services, safety or similar highly regarded emergency services experience (real world) in a voluntary or professional environment (preferably with mining emergency services experience)

Have experience in writing training course materials

Have excellent communication and computer skills

Be able to meet set KPI's for training, administration and other activities

Be willing to learn new skills and continually update your qualifications and certifications

Preferably you will also:
•A minimum of 3 year full-time or voluntary trainer, emergency services experience, defence force experience or mining/industrial emergency services experience
•Have experience in conducting safety, emergency response and/or fire training for other Registered Training Organisations
•Qualifications in WHS/OH&S (Cert IV or Diploma)
•Have experience working autonomously
