The Role

This is a perfect opportunity for a Certificate III qualified Child Care Educator to join one of the leaders in early childhood education. KU Children's Services provides our staff with the expertise and the support and it is this wealth of knowledge and experience that allows KU to enrich the lives of more than 15,000 children and families each year through nearly 140 services and programs. This position will see you working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day on a permanent basis commencing late June 2018

The Centre

The Joey Club Brisbane located in Brisbane Airport QLD, is the Qantas work-based long-day care centre operated by KU Children’s Services. 

The Joey Club provides exceptional education and care for children within a safe and nurturing learning environment. We provide a play-based learning program, which is centred on children’s individual strengths and interests. Our program is designed to allow children to develop a wide range of skills including curiosity, creativity, decision-making, exploration, language and self-expression. Qantas has constructed three state-of-the-art work based child care centres in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The centres are managed by KU Children's Services, one of Australia's leading providers of high quality early childhood education.

The impact you’ll have

  • work as a member of a co-operative team in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within her/his care.
  • ensure that up to date records are maintained for each child under that persons care.
  • ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

What we’re looking for?

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • Current Blue Card
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Recognised Certificate III in Children’s Services or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law(2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)(VEYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
