About the Role:

Based across our Fulham & Sale Campuses, an exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team in the provision of in-class support to small groups and individual students. As part of this role you will be responsible for providing literacy and numeracy support to students and for with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. To be successful in this role, you will have a calm and caring approach, the ability to motivate students and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

The Role of a Casual Learning Support Assistant is to:

  • Assist teachers in providing support to individual and small groups of students
  • Provide support that is aligned to an individual learning plan which sets out learning targets to enable them to complete their programme.
  • Use routine supervision and care skills to support pupils, including those who have physical, emotional or educational needs
  • Support the teachers in identifying the most effective resources for pupils with particular needs.
  • Help create and maintain an effective and exciting environment of learning
  • Keep the subject teachers informed about the progress and needs of students.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of pupils enhances learning opportunities and life skills.

To be Successful in this Position you will Need:

  • A Certificate III in Education Support; or be currently enrolled
  • Year 12 Certificate in English, Maths and ICT
  • Previous experience in a learning support role in a tertiary setting
  • Previous experience in the provision of support on a 1:1 basis
  • Previous experience in working with students with additional support needs

Successful applicants must hold a current driver’s licence and will be required to satisfy a National Police Records Check and a Victorian Working with Children Check.
