The Collections and Access unit supports the University’s teaching, learning and research objectives by providing access to relevant information resources. The Unit is responsible for the acquisition, organisation, discovery and accessibility of information resources, supporting learning and teaching across all campuses. The Library Learning and Teaching Unit is responsible for ensuring that the Library’s learning and teaching programs and services contribute to student learning outcomes.

About the role

The Senior Officer, Collections is responsible for undertaking collection management projects and maintaining accurate procedures and records relating to collection management. The role resolves supply and access issues for document delivery, high use materials and the general collection, fulfilling document delivery and high use materials requests in accordance with agreed service standards. The incumbent maintains collaborative relationships with University staff, students and partner libraries.

 

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role you will have completed a degree and/or have an equivalent combination of knowledge, training and experience. You will undertake the following but not limited to:

  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant Library environment with collection management, interlibrary loan and high demand processes
  • Demonstrated experience in providing appropriate and timely advice in response to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop collaborative working relationships with colleagues, students, academic staff and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a customer focused team.
