The National Trust is seeking a Fundraising Coordinator, 5 days a week to act as an ambassador for the National Trust and help raise vital funding for our programs and business functions. The Fundraising Coordinator will have knowledge of and some experience in fundraising, including direct mail, and Trusts and Foundations and the not for profit culture.  Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of direct mail campaigns, including management of  donor and potential donor records;  drafting of acknowledgements and other correspondence for the CEO and Chair of the organisation.  The position also entails the delivery of  a wide range of support for the Engagement & Philanthropy function, including support in the development and execution of special events, proposal writing, donor background research and other administrative and communications needs as required.  Must have willingness to learn and be part of a small team, and a willingness to work within the National Trust of Australia (Vic)’s fundamental principles, values and mission.

Reporting to the Head of Engagement & Philanthropy, your role will be broad reaching. Your key roles will include:

  • Overseeing the implementation of direct mail campaigns
  • Management of donor and potential donor records
  • Coordinate donor acquisition and communication programs
  • Support to Engagement & Philanthropy initiatives
  • Provide administration support for the Fundraising Team
  • Responsible for the donor and potential donor database
  • Assist with sourcing and organising appropriate new grants
  • Assist with general administrative tasks
  • Administer the grants/fundraising database
  • Seek and coordinate fellow department fundraising requests
  • Engage with supporters on the phone and by email
  • Data entry of donations
  • Support in special events
  • Support in Trust and Foundation submissions
  • Assist with grant submissions and the acquittal process
  • Drafting of correspondence for CEO and Chairman as required
  • Ability to take meeting notes/minutes
  • Provide relevant fundraising information and materials in a timely manner
  • Build relationships with third party supporters providing them with support and communications
  • Identify, engage, support and liaise with local community fundraising
  • Deliver customer experience to achieve long-term donor engagement
  • Ad hoc duties as required

 

 

To be considered for this opportunity with this exceptional organisation, it is preferred that you have current/recent experience in a similar role and can demonstrate: Ideally an understanding of fundraising with a background in fundraising/customer service/sales etc

  • Well-developed writing and communication skills. Writes clearly, informatively and grammatically.
  • Excellent administrative and project management skills. Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, with good attention to detail, often working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience building relationships and rapport on the phone
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated experience
  • Demonstrated experience in working with teams to achieve or exceed targets
  • High attention to detail and experience in working to tight deadlines with multiple priorities
  • Have the ability to show initiative and take ownership of duties and tasks
  • An ability to thrive in a changing & challenging non for profit environment
  • Experience with grant submissions and the acquittal process
  • Professional and mature minded
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Previous experience with Google G Suite
  • Be approachable, helpful and multi-task effectively
  • Have the ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Have a friendly, team focused, can do outgoing approach to tasks
