You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for driving the Sustainability agenda within Woolworths. You will lead the implementation of the Sustainability strategy for sustainable forestry and palm oil and its execution for the Woolworths Supermarkets and provide technical guidance and advice to our teams in regarding to deforestation. You will be responsible for partnering with internal teams and trading partners to drive the sustainability agenda within Woolworths while ensuring compliance and measuring and tracking our performance.

Your other key responsibility will be delivering on our sustainable supply chain  commitments related to deforestation including palm oil, paper, pulp,  timber, beef and packaging while representing Woolworths as the subject matter expert for sustainable forestry and palm oil.

If you have the following skills and experience we would love to hear from you:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of RSPO compliance requirements, standards and emerging issues regarding palm oil, beef deforestation, paper and timber;

  • Experience in working with third party certifiers and implementing these certifications schemes into a business e.g. Forest Stewardship Council;

  • Broad knowledge and experience of the retail/FMCG or QSR industry in executing sustainability programs including sustainable supply chain

  • Experience in communicating environmental policies and procedures

  • Ability to horizon scan local and international market for consumer and competitive information to inform and ensure supermarket policies are appropriate and future proof

  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and projects efficiently in a large organisation

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate peers, communicate with staff and engage

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • A high attention to detail and analytical capability

  • Track record of managing  stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to operate and adapt within a fast paced culture of change
