JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for an experienced Product Manager to join the BIC Oceania Marketing team.

Supporting the Trade Marketing Manager, the Product Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Stationery category.

Your key areas of focus will include:

  • Product portfolio management; the direct management of a defined product portfolio to ensure category objectives are achieved.  Developing and implementing strategic brand plans which deliver business and brand objectives across the Oceania region.
  • Activating the Category’s long-term strategy; including Go-To Market, Brand Activation, Promotional Offers and Channel Specific marketing plans.
  • Financial management and reporting; supporting the Trade Marketing Manager in the management of all commercial aspects within the category.  This includes supporting the team in managing aspects of the P&L budget and forecast to meet value, volume and profitability expectations, while working within a defined spend limit. 
  • Brand management and communications; localising BIC’s global assets which are associated with brand, product and advertising.  Managing communications for both consumer and trade campaigns
  • Category insights; support the category development team to extract category insights from various internal and external sources through the lens of the customer, consumer, shopper. 
  • Leveraging the strength of the team; leading cross functional groups to determine and anticipate business/customer needs and sales promotion activities

This role will be based at our St Kilda Road office, in Melbourne Australia.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Industry experience in a Marketing, Selling and/or Category Development function, ideally within FMCG industry;
  • Tertiary qualifications, specifically an undergraduate Marketing degree;
  • Sound understanding of Trade Marketing/Category and Product Management;
  • Demonstrates sound financial acumen with profit & loss understanding;
  • Highly analytical;
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills;
  • Well-presented and highly motivated;
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills; and
  • Initiative and entrepreneurial outside-the-box thinking. 
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
