Established in 1985, we manufacture and market high powered bulk materials handling conveyor systems and components as well as provide on-site installation, maintenance and relocation of conveyor installations.
NEPEAN Conveyors is currently seeking a technically competent Fabrication Leading Hand / Supervisor for the workshop based in Unanderra NSW. This position is critical to the business and is responsible to manage the workshop and storage areas in an efficient and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities include, yet are not limited to: -
- In conjunction with the Workshop Foreman, ensure the timely, efficient and safe operation the workshop,
- Supervise workshop staff on a day to day basis,
- Enforce the correct use of machinery and equipment,
- Monitor work flow in accordance with schedules/project plans,
- Support tradesmen and apprentices,
- Ensure Stores maintains adequate levels of stock items for jobs,
- Ensure workshop and storage area housekeeping is of a high standard and free of hazards
- Monitor workshop inspections ensuring they’re in keeping with Quality Standards,
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a similar role, developed within mining, materials handling or manufacturing industries. This coupled with the following skills and experiences: -
- Relevant Trade Qualification in Fabrication and Welding,
- Well Developed Interpersonal, leadership and Organisational Skills,
- Working knowledge of MS Office,
- Strong and Confident Communication skills (both written and verbal), coupled with a bright and enthusiastic attitude towards working with customer and colleagues,
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently,
- First Aid certificate highly regarded
